I would like to have seen a little more of the story from Anne's perspective at the end. After telling his father goodbye, Samuel escapes to the wilderness, where for nearly five years he builds his own shelter, catches his own food, and trains in warfare. This Victorian romp has it all, from family intrigue to marriages of convenience and naughty fun between the sheets. He must learn about his new abilities, as well as cope with the weird and vampirish bodily demands.
